Is there such thing as Clarks slippers?
You bet your cold feet there are! You have no idea how thrilled I was to find out that there was such thing as Clarks slippers! Up until recently I was wearing a pair of ratty old Uggs. I know what you’re saying… Uggs are very popular and a very large brand name. Very true for both, and expensive as well. My big issue with the Ugg brand is that they are no longer the great company they used to be (in my mind anyway). Ugg used to be an awesome Australian company that made amazing shoes, boots, and slippers. Rumor has it, they sent a few pairs of their boots to some
famous actors (no longer politically correct to say actresses?) and their massive popularity began once the media got a few pictures of them. Once business started booming, they outsourced their product like so many other companies to maximize their profits.
A funny story about Uggs (yes I know, this is suppose to be about Clarks). Uggs sent their boots in 2005 to a number of famous actors (as previously mentioned). One of the actors was Pamela Anderson (famous for also being a supporter of PETA… People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and she loved them! There are tons of pictures all over the internet and in magazines of her wearing them. In 2007, Anderson realized they were made of animal skins and posted on her website, “I thought they were shaved kindly? People like to tell me all the time that I started that trend — yikes! Well let’s start a new one — do NOT buy Uggs! Buy Stella McCartney or juicy boots.” I’m not entirely sure what she thought they were made of, but yes, they are made of animal skin.
Back to Clarks, there are a number of different types of Clarks slippers on the market today. One of the warmest (and I have a pair), are the Clarks Men’s Suede Leather Moccasin Slippers. There are also women’s moccasin slippers as well. This new line comes complete with removable comfort insols, cozy pile lining, leather uppers, and has half sizes. All this while still maintaining their high level of quality construction and quality materials.
Also worth noting is that Clarks also makes a number of other types of Clarks slippers. One of my favorites, and probably my next purchase are the ones below. For the life of me I can’t find the name of them however I tried them on when I was in NY and if my feet could sing a happy song, it would have been when I first put them into these slippers. They were so comfy and easy to slip on/off. The one thing that I’ve noticed with Clarks is that no matter what you are buying from them, mens Clark shoes, women’s Clarks shoes, Clarks slippers… it doesn’t really matter, they are all fantastic.
